About me
Hi, my name is Marcus
I really enjoy life in a lot of ways, I love a walk in nature, singing, dancing, cuddling, sex, having long talks or art. On the other hand I am also familiar with anxiety, grief and overthinking. As a participant in intimacy workshops I really grew as a person because I became aware of a lot of my fears and patterns around them. I also got to see my talents and the power of vulnerabilty and I met a ton of interesting and sexy people that I got to play with! The workshops really helped me to accept my gender queerness and it gave me the courage to start using they/them pronouns. I always thought that when I showed my “ugly” feelings like anger and sadness, people would turn away but instead I saw that in a group that is guided well people actually get closer when you open up. I really want to share that gift with you! Mind you, I am not promising you a life without pain filled with just joy and security. But I do create a space where you are welcome to be yourself and get in touch with what is alive in you and in others. A space where you can connect, learn and have juicy interactions.
How I work
First of all, consent is always key. That means that you only participat
e in the exercises and with the people you want. If you have trouble recognizing when something feels like a “yes”, “no” or “maybe” I can help you with this. I will never push you to do anything. What I can do is coach you and motivate you to explore in a safe as possible way.
We will do this by setting some ground rules for the day together and doing a drop in meditation to land in the space and in yourself. From there we build up slowly in connecting to yourself and later on to the other people in the room. We use playful exercises that involve breath,
movement and later on, touch. I work with conscious sensuality which means that at my events everybody is sober and I will guide you through exercises that invite you to explore intimacy with yourself and others. For now this means mostly doing playful exercises which are inspired or informed by the wheel of consent, neo-tantra and improvisation theater.
My teachers
To get my degree at the Sensual arts school I worked with Luna Agneya, Triss Tashi, Sanya Alaya in 2023
and also participated in online workshops by Shelby Leigh, Justin Michael Williams, Victoria Redbard and MxGili
I also keep going to workshops around intimacy bodywork, dance and connection myself. I am inspired by people like Wilrieke Sophia, Ron Hagendoorn and Monique Darling.
Inclusivity
I aim for inclusive workshops where everybody is welcome regardless your skintone, sexual orientation, gender identity, bodytype, neurodiversity or how able your body is. I expect participants to respect eachothers differences. You do not have to be a professor in LHBTIQA+ sciences(you are very welcome if you are:) as long as you are open to eachother. I will not work with terms or exercises where male/female energy and such play a role. I try to make my events as accessible as possible for people who live with a mental or physical disability and will try to communicate as clear as possible when a venue or workshop might offer challenges in this regard. Please tell me if there are factors in your life that might make participating more challenging so we can see if we can make it work anyway! As you might have seen I am white and socialized with the privileges that come with this. I do try to keep up my knowledge through trainings, literature and talking to different people to create an environment where everybody can feel safe to flourish!
Of course I have my blindspots too like everybody. Let’s try to support eachother in this instead of judging eachother right away. There is so much to learn together!
How I ended up facilitating intimacy workshops
A couple of years ago I participated in an Intimacy training with a group of people I had never met before. After a couple of hours I had learned so much about myself and felt really part of the group. I had never experienced anything like this before. After this workshop many others followed and the thought of becoming a facilitator myself grew bigger and bigger. I was already familiar with training groups, I have been working with several NGO’s as a trainer for over 6 years where I trained people in communication skills. Of course I still had a lot to learn in working with intimacy so in the spring of 2023 I decided to do the sensual arts facilitator training where I was trained to design and facilitate workshops but also how to work with consent with a diverse group of people and how to act when somebody is triggered during a workshop. This was an amazing experience which gave me the confidence to start out for myself in this beautiful line of work. This year I have been assisting and facilitating workshops at several festivals, Erasmus MC and at venues I booked myself. I am also working on collaborating with several organisations and colleagues in the future which I will keep you updated on here and on instagram.
